In line with the declaration of the Provincial Government of Southern Leyte to implement the S-PaSS Travel Management System in all entry and exit points of the Province, the Office of the Provincial Administrator organized a seminar-workshop on the use and implementation of the S-PaSS on August 26, 2021 at the Southern Leyte Legislative Building in Maasin City, Southern Leyte. S-PaSS is a travel management system developed by DOST VI as a measure to manage travelers’ movement between municipalities and regions in the midst of the CoViD-19 pandemic.
The Department of Science and Technology Regional Office VIII announces the qualifiers for the 2021 Undergraduate Scholarships under RA 7687, RA 10612, and Merit Program. A total of 188 qualifiers in Region VIII enrolled in accredited schools and S&T priority courses will be granted with various benefits including tuition subsidy, monthly stipend, book allowance, among others for two to three years, effective on the First Semester of AY 2021-2022. Engr. Felipe Bagasbas-Cafe III comes from a brood of 6 and he is the 2nd. His father is a market cleaner while her mother is a native delicacy maker.Felipe or Felip before he became scholar, used to help her mother in peddling the delicacies his mother produced in the market so that they can have money to spend for their day-to-day consumption. He was a 2013 RA 7687 Scholar from Calbiga, Samar who studied BS in Electronic and Communication Engineering and graduated in the year 2018 from Samar State University, a premier government run university in the province of Samar and passed the board exams in the same year. Engr. Felipe Bagasbas-Cafe III comes from a brood of 6 and he is the 2nd. His father is a market cleaner while her mother is a native delicacy maker.Felipe or Felip before he became scholar, used to help her mother in peddling the delicacies his mother produced in the market so that they can have money to spend for their day-to-day consumption. As a scholar he also shared his stipend to augment the money that the family needs to spend for the schooling of his siblings.

After his board exam he work at DOST-PSTC Samar as Grant-In-Aid staff in 2019 but eventually, pursuing his dream he resigned from his DOST work and pursued his longtime dream, TO BE A BUSINESSMAN. He starts his own MC Printing Services business of t-shirt printing with a borrowed initial capitalization of P150,000.00, in Calbiga, Samar renting a space in the 2nd floor of one of the buildings in their municipal public market. He sought assistance from SETUP program for the acquisition of 6 feet Eco Solvent Printer for large tarpaulin printing and stickers for label designs amounting to P450,000.00. He was able to employ 1 worker from the area and planning to expand his business to Basey, Samar to increase his customer reach.
