DOST through its Biliran Provincial Science and Technology Center recently conducted a livelihood training on Meat and Fish Processing Technology for the employees, members and valued clients of Almeria Seafarers Multipurpose Cooperative (ASEMCO). The three-day activity was held on November 9-11, 2015 at ASEMCO Compound, Del Bano St., Poblacion, Almeria, Biliran. The training was aimed to enhance the skills of the participants in meat and fish processing and to introduce another possible source of income for small entrepreneurs. 

The Department of Science and Technology, Regional Office No. VIII announces the passers of 2015 Junior Level Science Scholarships (JLSS) these are the qualified third year students who are enrolled in priority fields of study in engineering, basic and applied sciences and mathematics teaching at identified universities and colleges. The exam was conducted last July 12, 2015 to different schools in the region, alongside with this, there will be an Orientation and Contract Signing on October 22, 2015 (Thursday) 9:00 a.m. at Student Center Function Room, 2nd Floor, Leyte Normal University, Tacloban City. Please bring the following requirements for the contract signing: Parent/Guardian, 2 pcs 2x2 ID Picture, 5 pcs 1x1 ID Picture and a Coomunity Tax Certificate.
